Born and raised in the sweet quiet town of Sandy, Utah, people would not expect me to pursue a career in acting. My very conservative Chinese parents hoped that I would become a lawyer, so I figured 4 years of acting school and a co-star on a law show would have to do the trick.
After starring in my first musical, The Emperor's New Clothes, I was determined to become an actor. I worked incredibly hard in high school, and was awarded "Theatre Student of the Year" at the Utah State Theatre Conference. I lettered in theatre and played various quirky roles such as Dinah the Dining Car (Starlight Express), Mistress Quickley (Henry IV pt 2) and Miss Snevellici (a 6 hour long production of Nicholas Nickleby) before moving to New York City to pursue a BFA in Theatre.
Once there, I was placed in Atlantic Theatre School and was lucky to have been taught by incredible teachers such as Anya Saffir, Cynthia Silver, Kelly Maurer and many more. After finishing my primary training there, I attended Stonestreet Studios and worked with Andy Roth and Ted Sluberski.
